"You have to work hard to offend Christians. By nature, Christians are the most forgiving, understanding, and thoughtful group of people I've ever dealt with. They never assume the worst. They appreciate the importance of having different perspectives. They're slow to anger, quick to forgive, and almost never make rash judgments or act in anything less than a spirit of total love . . . No, wait--I'm thinking of Labrador retrievers!" Grace under Siege 48: Historic date in Grace Brethren History

NOTE: Now that the names of the Watchmen have been released, we can post these pictures from the first meeting. Those pictured who are not on the list were only there to gain information.
Terry L. Polley, Pastor Paul Hoffman and John T. Anderson led in prayer.
Last Sunday--January 8, 2012--116 people gathered for prayer, lunch, and updates on the situation at Grace Brethren Church of Long Beach, California. Originally "The Supporters of the Statement of Faith," this group now calls itself  “Watchmen of Grace:  The Bible, the Whole Bible, and Nothing but the Bible.”
The meeting began with an extended time of spontaneous prayer for our church and its leaders. Reports dealt with two issues of immediate concern regarding the current leadership: their failure to propagate the gospel fully and accurately from the pulpit and their mistreatment of many members over the years. Some of those who have experienced recent mistreatment shared their stories.
Supporters agreed with John Anderson that our hearts' desire is for our senior pastor to repent and continue to lead us, preaching the Word of God.
