"You have to work hard to offend Christians. By nature, Christians are the most forgiving, understanding, and thoughtful group of people I've ever dealt with. They never assume the worst. They appreciate the importance of having different perspectives. They're slow to anger, quick to forgive, and almost never make rash judgments or act in anything less than a spirit of total love . . . No, wait--I'm thinking of Labrador retrievers!" Released

Jerry says it's time to leave. Thank you, Lord!

The same God who was with you then is with you now
The same God who led you in will lead you out
So take all the fear and doubt
Go on and lay them down
The same God, the same God is with you now. . .
from The Same God by Hillsong

Huge relief and grief, mingled.

  2. Quite a journey lies ahead. Transition. I feel for you, we are further down the path, but still finding we are on the journey. After leaving our church of 20 years, we too have had to travel on the road. It's interesting, because the exit is in itself a destination. You will find a huge sigh of relief, but there is grief ahead-- things that will surprise you, just the normalcy and the schedule. Even if you find a wonderful new church home, there is grief over differences, but embrace them. Remember you left where you were for good reasons. Be careful not to bring your distrust with you. That's hard for me often, trusting new leadership, not holding them to the sins of those I've left. Carry with you hope and the benefit of the doubt, they are critical things to pack on this next leg. But I am happy for you, there are good things up ahead. I am certain. xoxo
