"You have to work hard to offend Christians. By nature, Christians are the most forgiving, understanding, and thoughtful group of people I've ever dealt with. They never assume the worst. They appreciate the importance of having different perspectives. They're slow to anger, quick to forgive, and almost never make rash judgments or act in anything less than a spirit of total love . . . No, wait--I'm thinking of Labrador retrievers!" Grace under Siege 71: Deep peace, sweet sleep

Dear Friends and Fellow Watchmen,

We are having such deep peace and sweet sleep these past few days and nights. Such confidence in God--not in the outcome of a vote. The vote is hardly a blip on the screen of what God is doing at Grace. Some will see tomorrow's outcome as victory, some as defeat, but that's all irrelevant. It won't make any difference in the long run. It's God's church and He is still actively involved in getting it back. He is in total control of something much bigger than our marking a ballot. What He has begun He will continue to do, the evil He has started to expose and unravel He will continue to bring down until it is utterly crushed beneath His feet. Those who may rejoice tomorrow will still have to face truth and repentance down the road.

Wishing the same (deep peace, sweet sleep, and confidence in God) for all of you tonight!

Jessica and Jerry
